shot this with the boys today. the first critter that I have taken while they were with me. thought skinning it for the fly tying kit would be a great way to preserve the memory. every fly I tie and every fish I catch off of the bugger will remind me of that outing.
[rquote=1497989&tid=104542&author=venatic]How many flies you think you get out of that squirrel?[/rquote]
I have never realy counted but I have had them last up to 5 years back when I wasnt married and didnt have any committments and could fish every day.
I would have to guess that I could get close to 1000 small trout flies out of that. If I were tying big bass bugs or mepps type spinner tails, then not to many.
:Good job skinning.I used to shoot big reds for a Montana master fly tyer, skin, borax, ship. They dont have big reds up there, man did he like MoMo reds......used to send me fly's in return.Real fly's,not the kind I tye:rof2:
Oughta get a lot of good use out of that! Plus good memories.
