Because they migrate south in the winter.... and raid eggs from turkey nests in the summer?:thinking:It's news from Iowa. Not sure why I would care?
MDC would say you saw a Golden Retriever!Pretty cool!!! Saw one in 2005 during rifle season in Missouri. Walked by at about 50 yards from me. I thought it would be walking more silent and ninja like but I heard it coming walking on dry leaves.
Heard that one before. I even found a set of "gray dog tracks". Those are tracks that look just like cat tracks... have all the same characteristics of cat tracks... but are dog tracks.:bangingMDC would say you saw a Golden Retriever!
without the claw marks...but seriously, seeing a big cat or a bear in the MO woods is on my bucket list!Heard that one before. I even found a set of "gray dog tracks". I have had the opportunity to kill two big cats in Gentry county MO. First was back in 1987. It was at 80 yards during deer season, 4:30 pm sunlight shining on it, scope on 9 power. Beautiful cat, life changing experience. Then in 1998 I treed one with my hounds. All I had were CCI CB's in the clip. Wouldn't have shot it anyway, but I am pretty sure shooting a big cat with CB's isn't the smartest thing to do. Slightly better than shooting a black bear with a CB, which is slightly smarter than shooting a grizzly with a CB.without the claw marks...but seriously, seeing a big cat or a bear in the MO woods is on my bucket list!
I also sent the track pics to 6 - 8(memory slipping) lion guides out west and asked their opinions on the tracks. They all said young tom or a female, not one they would drop the hounds on.without the claw marks...but seriously, seeing a big cat or a bear in the MO woods is on my bucket list!
Lol. Ya. Was in warren near Marthasville when i saw it. Was pretty cool.MDC would say you saw a Golden Retriever!
I have been lucky enough to see both cat and bear in Missouri. I saw the bear in leasburg. Near the cortois creek. This was years ago. Was pretty cool. And saw the cat in warren county during 2005 deer season. Most people won't c either one. I just happened to get luckywithout the claw marks...but seriously, seeing a big cat or a bear in the MO woods is on my bucket list!
