Where you hunting that all the leaves are dropped? Just being stupid but seems to be a cooler time that how ever took the pic. Probably when they were removing it.
I didn't take the pic - a friend just sent it over and I thought it was pretty unique!

Impressive!!
I would have to buy another stand. That one would go in the freezer and then on the wall.

Hate to be there when your buddies thaw out ..... ;)
They don't thaw out if frozen long enough. They die and dry.
Bees are all gone from it by now. I just cut a nice one from a tree in the yard and it is going to school with the granddaughter. If you're unsure just put a clear bag around them at night with a little Raid and seal it up.

When we removed them for the city we started out doing that then freezing. We were told just freezing them would work so switched to that. If you have freezer space it's effective. The wasps don't overwinter in those nests , so if left in the freezer for a few weeks they die.
Got one I need to get, they were still home last weekend. Like others have said, I'd have to leave it on the stand, that is cool as heck.
Knew a fella that used a long piece of clear tubing that he had rigged on the end of a telescoping pole. He stuck the end of the hose into the hole at the bottom of the nest and sprayed some type of chemical through the hose at the other end. Hornets would fall out on the ground DEAD..
