best place to hunt

    where does everyone think would be the best place hunt public land< was suppose to be able to hunt on 500 acres of private land and now that fell through so not very happy right now:mad2::mad2::mad2:

    Depends on where you live or how far you want to drive.

    Down in the Ozarks and around Columbia there are thousands of acres of National forest land. A lot of it is forested and remote, but if you are willing to get away from the roads you should be able to find some good hunting. Hunting public land during rifle season is no fun. Good luck and do not be afraid to do some serious walking in order to get away from the crowds and see some deer.

    i know there are usually good deer taken out of Rebels Cove CA up around Lancaster, MO. I hunt private land right next to that CA. Its pretty nice up there. I'd say 4.5 to 5 hours from stl.
