Looking at getting a new base layer set and wondering what you all would get. I want one for cold season that will work for the cold days in November for bow and riffle, and late season bow hunting.
Under Armour cold gear is good if you are rabbit hunting or doing something that invovles moving. For sitting in a stand when it's freezing out I prefer poly propylene long underwear. They help insulate MUCH better than the UA when sitting still. UA has some new base layer clothing out but I haven't tried it yet so can't tell you how well that stuff works. It does look better than the original stuff though.
Not tried the 3.0 but I do have the 2.0 and the lighter base layer thats more of a waffle style and its all good. The waffle type is great for just wearing under your jeans on cold days when your in and out of the house or shop. You dont overheat while inside but it helps a bunch when your outside. The 2.0 is great for cold days outside and when its really cold I just add a layer of poly or I have a pair of Rocky insulated bottoms that are fairly heavy. I'm sold on UA!!!
Thanks guys for the advice. I get cold very easy and that keeps me from hunting alot during the winter. So I wanted something to keep me warm, with minimal bulk.
Well in my opinion I think that Merino wool seems to be the best. I own lots under armour and other styles of synthetics. However it seems that the merino is cooler when its warm and warmer when its cool.

x100
It is the warmest layer I have ever wore. It has a lining that is soft and warm and wicks the moisture from your body. It is awsome am planning on buying another set.
