I have waged war against these overgrown water vermin. Talk about nuisance, they have done a number on my trees and lake. The shotgun apparently wasn’t cutting it, but the AR with the night scope sure does!

They’ve been hard at work plugging the overflow tube for the lake. I’ll clear it and they will fill it back in overnight. So the first night it wasn’t freezing I decided to sneak along the backside of the levee and crawl up to where I could see the tube. I laid there Rambo style and waited and by God that worked!

So I decided to bring in reinforcements for another go round and bam, bye bye beaver again! Least I could do was let him shoot one of the stupid things after making him bust dams with me all day

Now there have been a couple nights where the beavers didn’t show, so let me tell ya what I did. I set up a cell trail cam on the tube to help figure out when they are out there. So last night almost 10 I get the first pic, so I grabbed the gun and out I went.

Now this dude had already left to play chainsaw again, and I had been busted by a couple half hearted tail slaps, but I stayed out for a while til my fingers got cold. So I started back to the house when I heard the most annoying crunching on a stump below me. Sure enough there was one of the giant rodents who was so entranced with the wood cutting didn’t notice me plugging along. 3 down, God knows how many more…

and after all that fun the camera quickly reminded me I am way outnumbered with a new tube plugger working away at 5am

I tried shooting em with little effect. I had a buddy familiar with trapping beaver come out and took care of them real quick. Might check with MDC to see if they have help to deal with nuisance wildlife.

Trapping is best . Watch some videos . Kinda rewarding also . Put up the biggest one look good on a wall.
I figured it was, but am hesitant with the dogs and cats roaming my place.

I did take the last one to get tanned, it weighed around 30lbs.

Awesome ! Body trap in the water you won’t catch anything but beavers or rats .
Good to know! Will have to do some research and give it a go.

Rats are not welcome here either, especially the water kind. Had a few nutria in the past.

Lay a stick from bank to bank just barely touching the water above the trap . Called a dive stick it will ensure the beaver won't be swimming with its head above water at the trap .
Oh good to know, I’ll go add that!
