Wow. Good thing u weren’t in the shower! People need to learn gun safety!! Always know what is behind what u r shooting at!!!
I was in the bedroom next to it with my wife and both kids. I'm guessing it would have came right through the drywall.Crazy. Any idea where it came from?
Wow. Glad that wasn't worse. If you don't see a good backstop, don't shoot. Several years back my son was in a treestand and heard bullets whizz by him. He tried getting behind the biggest part of the tree he could. I had heard the shots and after confirming with him which direction they came from, we (my son, daughter and I) went and had a chat with the neighbors. The guy who they let hunt was with them and I asked if he had shot in our direction. Long story short, yes he had, and shooting at multiple deer that ran up a hill when he was downhill. He killed one, but thought it got back up again when he saw one in the same direction a couple hundred yards further away. I gave him a 20 second hunter safety reminder about backdrop and reminding him where we hunt. The bullets traveled over half a mile. According to the neighbor after talking with him the next year, he lost his hunting privileges.
Man that is a closer than close call. Glad you and your family are ok. That could have been a very bad deal.

Dad gum. I would sure be uneasy until I figured out where it came from and confirmed that they were aware of what they did.
That is a bit scary. Glad you guys are okay. I was out yesterday and could hear quite a few centerfire rifle shots scattered about. Probably folks getting ready for deer season (assumption). I think I would definitely take a drive in the direction it came from and see if I could locate a target set up, etc in order to have a discussion with the folks involved.
Damn. When I was little someone put a bullet through my grandma's house. Went through the exterior wall then went kinda diagonal right and tumbled through 2 interior walls and lodged in a third. Was literally about 6 foot from where my brother was sitting. Crazy neighbor 3/4 mile away just happened to be up on a high spot shooting and cutting firewood at the time.
It might be worth reporting. A deputy making inquiries about who might have been shooting that day might make them move their target.

Good thing no one got hurt. We had it happen as well. Kids were about 1/2 mile away shooting into the river and it was ricocheying and hitting the side of our trailer. We walked out of the trailer as the rounds were hitting and realized what was going on.

google earth or satellite view you can figure what is in line with that shot and have a guess at the general area it came from to get a starting point on a house/farm to go see
My wifes cousin had a roofing business on the south/east part of KC and has found many bullets lodged into the sheeting on the roofs that he has repaired. Celebration shots fire into the air here in the city is what he said was the most probable cause.
That's freaking scary. I hope you figure out where it came from so it doesnt happen again.
Years ago my dad bought a house with the purpose of remodeling and flipping it for resale. This house sat at the edge of town and a set of railroad tracks ran about 150 yards behind it. There was nothing between the house and tracks other than an old overgrown field. Woods on the other side of the tracks.
Dad and I were standing in the backyard of this house talking about remodel plans when suddenly we heard someone over the tracks in the woods open up with a .22 semi auto. We turned to look that direction when we both suddenly realized the tree we were standing under was getting little limbs clipped off as the stray bullets were whistling just overhead. We yelled and ran around in front of the house. We kept yelling and the shooting stopped. We peeped around just in time to see a couple kids running down the tracks. We found out later there was a series of bike trails all through the woods back there and kids from town went back there goofing off. It wasn't uncommon for them to shoot tin cans and plink back in there. A couple feet lower and dad and I would have been in serious trouble.
