Just bored, thought I would post a pic of my cresting job and homemade turkey fletching...These arrows have gone thru at least 2 seasons if not 3, so they aren't as fresh as they were when new, but have held up pretty good...anybody else make thier own???

Nice job, wasn't even aware you could use turk feathers. :withstupid:

Excellent job though and I would like some in carbon also.

those look like gold tip traditional shafts????

i thought you "real men" were so tough you went out and even cut your own shafts :horse:

Obviously you haven't seen me shoot....I need something more durable than woodies!!!!.......woodies.....gotta be a dirty joke in there somewhere!!!

Fireman.. a friend of mine and I make our own out of blank cedar shafts. We dont make our own fletching as you do,but we do alright.. I'll snap a pic of some of the darts we make next time I am over there.

BTW.. we get most or our traditional supplys at the link below.... are you familiar with this place?

Oh yea,, I'm familiar with 3 rivers....good folks. I'll take a pic of some woodies I built too...

Easy really and lotsa fun.. although I will have to admit that he does the cresting.. Not much of an artist here :wave:

Ya just need a steady hand....let the cresting tool do the work, spinning the arrow...The first ones I ever did, I cut a notch in each end of a cardboard box, and spun em by hand!! Turned out pretty good, believe it or not!!!
