I don't think there is any way of knowing. The left side does have similarities,,,but the right side really doesn't. Who's to say,,that second ones a dandy no matter what he looked like last year.(.02)
I got that backwards,,its visa versa on those 2 sides
:cheers::cheers:
I will vote yes, I would like to see other pictures of the first one. Thats alot of points to add in one year, but who knows maybe he was hurt the first yr?
Looks like the white on the left rear is a little different as well as the white on his neck. I suppose all that can change with time. Similar rack to. Dandy. :cheers:
In the first pic he is reaching maturity. You can tell he is 3 years or better. You could bet the next year or two (from 08) that if he has the potential he would blossom. I think that is exactly what he has done this year. I vote yes
[rquote=1509735&tid=105305&author=Modeerhunter]Looks like a pretty typical amount of antler growth from a 2 1/2 to a 3 1/2 year old IMO. Could be the same deer. [/rquote]
Yeah we are thinking he is 3.5-4.5 year old. If he is the same he really jumped. And with the new food plots last winter and the new bean fields that are there this year, I sure like to see what he has going next Spring!!! Buddy did miss him with a bow and after I got my buck this year with the riffle I seen him 45 min after that!! He is a nice one now but I am sure he will be a hog next year!! Unless of course I see him the next 3 weeks with my bow.
Look closer at the throat patches of the two bucks I dont know for sure but they look pretty different to me but that might change from year to year. Antlers certainly do share some characteristics though.....
I would think that there's enough similarities to convince some hunters that there is no reason to shoot young scrub racked bucks, just let'em go and see what they turn into when they get some age on them. Great post by the way.
[rquote=1509830&tid=105305&author=letemgrow]IMO, they seem to make the biggest jump from 3.5 to 4.5 in the cases I have seen. [/rquote]
I agree, just don't look like a 3 1/2 in the first picture, and not enough muscle mass in the second one to be a 4 1/2 year old, hence my opinion. :cheers:
