I am going on my first hunt since i have arrived here in MO. I am in the Kansas City area and will be going to a public spot just a little piece from Whiteman AFB. I have been working from daylight to dark almost everyday, that combined with unpacking from the move up here and everything, i have not had time to scout or anything. So, i am leaning toward going out on Thursday(first available day to go) in the afternoon or even late morning(dont want to navigate unknown land in the dark) and just setting up a ground blind with my bow and hunting until dark. Any one had any luck doing this before? I know the rut is here or should be anyway...so i am hoping for alot of luck. I figure a little rattle and a grunt will probably help some. Any advice for going in blind?

try to scout as silently as possible, find a spot that looks good and hope for the best, you have alot better chance of going in blind compared to not going at all
