In all honesty I have no idea how you’d check it in on the telecheck. But to be an “antlered buck” at least one horn needs to be greater than 3”. So if it doesn’t meet that criteria it shouldn’t be logged in as such, right?….. because it is not an “antlered buck” by MDC definition.

My guess is at least most is people who didn’t have a clue it was antlerless only season.

I noticed one county that isn't open to antlerless hunting had two deer checked in for that county. My guess is they will get a visit by Mr. Greenjeans.

Not too early, between now and the 12th of DEC someone on here or FB will post finding a fresh shed antler. So a few could already be on the ground.
I pulled my camera card this weekend and it sure looked like the big doe I was looking at had a pedicle showing but it was a crappy picture so hard to tell for sure.

I asked MDC about this several years ago, because I killed a buck during rifle season that was definitely at least 1.5 years old, and had what looked like oatmeal cookies for antlers. When I saw the deer, I knew it didn't have antlers and body size told me not a BB, so I thought mature doe and shot it. They told it me, it should be checked as an antlered buck, zero points..... On one of my antlerless tags.

You can tell me I am wrong, but I would have followed the 3" rule and just tagged on an antlerless tag and never called anyone. It does say "bucks" along with BB in the description.

"Does, button bucks and bucks with spikes less than 3 inches are legal to take on Antlerless or Any-Deer Permits; "

I checked it on an antlerless tag, not my any-deer tag. Sorry, to confuse I should have stated that. Checked it on antlerless tag, as a buck zero points. That is what MDC told me to do. BTW, I corrected my post to state that so no one is confused.

I didn’t look at the counties in question but some could be landowner Cwd seals also if the deer was taken in a Cwd zone. Bucks can be taken in this scenario.
