Another MWT Family fishing trip

761 Views 11 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  Maconplc
Had the pleasure of fishing with Maconplc and his family this week. The seas have really laid down after the hurricane and we had a terrific trip. They had a ball reeling in red snapper and even got a bonus red grouper. He ran in his hole and swelled up and Ted had to wait him out. After about ten minutes Ted felt him swimming and got him cranked off the bottom and won the fight. Ted, Cindy, Ellie, Ben and Daniel, it was great fishing with you guys and I hope you come fish with me again. I will add pics to this thread from my phone.

The captain sometimes has to help the anglers hook up or fight a fish. They pull really hard! Different fish have different regulations, some you can keep the captain and crews limit, others you can't. Red snapper is one you can't. I am going on a charter with another captain on Monday so I can keep fish. When state recreational season is open I usually go out on days off and catch snapper. When the charters slow down I am ready to try swordfishing on my own. I have done it several times with another captain but just got all the gear to try it myself.
You shouldn't have needed to help Ted fight a fish. He has tons of experience from going to the deer show. :D
Nice!
Awesome stuff
It was a fun trip and captain Glenn was really good to us. I had no clue what to expect since it was my first salt water trip. We were reeling them in pretty fast and furious for a while and the family had a great time. If we make it down that way again sometime we'll give you a call. Thanks again captain!
