I'm going to be burning batteries in the Fox Pro soon. Need to get a decoy ( think my son has 1 I can use) . Should probably get traps. Got 110's not big enough. Couple 330's not legal for dry ground.

Several areas, including the ones you say got better by trapping predators have and see great PHRs WITHOUT trapping. Just habitat work.
If theres another issue other than habitat its climate change.

Its always "contributed". More predators arent hurting because there arent enough eggs or nests on the landscape to matter for 1. For 2, nest success isnt what is driving declines, its poult survival. We have had good nest success the last 4 years.It's definitely contributing in some areas. We had much better production that our region this year and there is no trapping.
Weird, so I guess in a bad weather year predators eat less nests than in a good weather year?? They would certainly have to if they were the driving force behind production.
