    Hunters must be far different north to south. In 2 square miles there were NO bucks shot on us or 1 neighbor. Another neighbor with about 3 sq miles killed 3.

    Given apr, Id say at least 8 per sq mile arent even legal.

    Yes, fawns are qhat become old deer. If you kill off the top you always have tje same or more bucks.

    On our farm I have years of data that has consistently shown 1 deer out of 4 is an antlered buck, with the other 3 being pretty much equally divided between does and fawns. I can also say with certainty that our buck to doe ratio is higher than anywhere else I know of, primarily because we harvest very few bucks. For the statewide average, I would doubt that more than 1 out of 5 is an antlered buck.
