This post and pics were put on our Mississippi site and I decided to share.
This was my first in 32 years of Delta life. Caught in a commercial fisherman's net in Quitman county. He said it was nearly dead when he got it out; I wish the thing would've been alive enough to release. I have great respect for these monsters of the deep.
107 pounds. Head is on top of a 104 quart cooler. Alligator gar have two rows of teeth where the longnose, shortnose and spotted gar only have one.
