Based on web forums eh? How can you guys claim they are better at killing deer, then say they wound about the same number???? That don't make sense.

How many wounded deer by crossbow did you see here last season vs vertical bows. I'm with cj you cant have it both ways.

I dont put much credence in success rates quotes/estimates.

Sort of wonder if crossbow haters are claiming their kills as xbow kills.... To say the data has the possibility to be suspect, is understating it. :D

I don't either. If you are hunting legal that's what counts. If you shoot a big buck good for you, it wasn't mine. Every season I have customers bring in really nice bucks, If I worried about what others killed I'd drive myself crazy.

I can think of a few possibilities. It shouldn't matter as long as they are hunting legal. If you cant fight em join em.

Well, the way I look at it, If I am going to release an arrow/bolt/bullet at a deer, I want it to hit as accurately as possible, as long as you are doing it legally.... In the end, a dead deer, is a dead deer.

All I'm saying is the success rates are higher because they are more accurate easier to shoot weapons. My example is an example of the average vertical bow shot.Because you or I cannot sit in the stand with people and tell them to not shoot a deer at 60-70 yards with a crossbow then the whole wounded deer argument is null an void because both weapons will wound deer.I don't want wounded deer but it's the nature of the game. Also I'm not against crossbows at all I just don't like the excuses people give like it's some disadvantage to use one.Im not against them though I just rather the truth just like it's truthful that a compound is easier to shoot than a traditional bow by leaps and bounds

that's just the thing, archery isn't about slinging, it IS about getting animals CLOSE!!

I honestly doubt it, just that more people are joining the archery ranks due to the ease and effectiveness of the weapon and others like you purchased them for the same reason!

Not possible given the tag structure in the states that are actually tracking it.

same way rifles are better at killing deer, but tons still get wounded! give a terrible hunter the superior weapon or the hardest weapon, which do you think they would kill more critters with or even attempt?

I thought we were discussing Mo. I didn't realize what happened in another state effected our seasons and limits.

This is where you are incorrect. I did not purchase for anything more than I think it'll be a fun way to shoot a deer, and the reason I deer hunt is to have fun. If you don't get that, I don't give a flip. :wave1:

What happens in a state with very similar regulations is likely very representative of whats happening in MO
