"AirBow" to be legal in Virginia

this ought to really get the anti Crossbow crowd stirred up if its approved for archery season

Like it or not it seems likely that the Crosman "airbow" will be a legal weapon during Virginia's archery season this coming fall. Senate Bill 859 passed the committee last week with a 15-0 vote (all in favor). The Senate bill still has a ways to go but looks inevitable with this strong start.

Two years ago the "airbow" became a legal weapon during firearms season.

The patrons of the bill are hunters who feel that this is a good thing for hunters. They say it increases "opportunity" for hunters.

I can't wait for it to be legalized in Missouri. Maybe I will win the bet on how many days it will take for 20's head to explode this time.

I think they should just go 1 buck rule and weapon of choice ha.Thats the one thing I like about my Mississippi hunting is primitive weapon seasons are throughout the season but on private land it's weapon of choice all but one of the seasons.Lets you kill deer how you want to on your own land

I'd be for this... One buck, any method, and a lot longer season with a firearm....... I really only want to kill one a year anyway. One buck, 2 doe limit statewide, and let er rip. You might have to shorten the season from 9/15 - 1/15, but they could do that...... Open 10/1 close on 12/31. What they heck, why not we're just spitballing here. :D

shoots an arrow propelled by a bow and string.

I am not familiar with these airguns/bows/thingamajigs to have an opinion on if they are what I consider archery. Not that that is the deciding factor on whether it should be allowed during the easy season.

So when does a 410 shotgun with the pellets removed and firing an arrow get to become legal? I heard of a guy doing this once.:D

I'm sure these will be considered heavy and cumbersome as well.

No limbs, no string... not an archery device.

To be perfectly clear for future arguments and twisters, CFM has already taken the position against these being included in archery in MO.
