Thought I would post some pics, been cataloging all the firearms so here are a few for enjoyment.

First one is of my New England 20ga. First real firearm I ever owned. My Grandparents bought it for me, it is by far my most prized gun for this reason. Too bad my Mom took it away from me once and stored it where it got wet. I was not happy!

Here is my Savage 17HMR aka The Squirrel Death Machine

[file]92854[/file]

Here is my very first deer rifle. It's a Howa 1500 chambered in 270. Most accurate gun out of the box I've ever had the pleasure of shooting.

[file]92856[/file]

Next is the famed 30-378 Weatherby Mag. My wife's Grandfather purchased this gun right before his untimely death. It was given to me, unfired. Every deer it will ever kill will be in his memory. So far it's killed one, and let me tell ya about blowin a hole in a deer. WOW!

[file]92858[/file]

Next is a Smith&Wesson Model 1000 12ga. Another gift from my wife's Grandfathers collection. He gave this one to me himself. He told me I bet you've never seen one of these before. He was right, I didn't even know S&W made shotguns. It kills doves like nobody's business and is one of the lightest shotguns I've ever handled.

[file]92860[/file]

The next two are also from my wifes Grandfathers collection. First one is his prized Super Black Eagle 1. It's a nice gun and I have yet to put a round through it.

[file]92862[/file]

Last is the Benelli Super M90. I have dove hunted with this one before, it's a shooter for sure.

[file]92864[/file]

Let's see some pics of your favorite firearms!

Love that Marlin 35. I also love the Daisy, never realized they made anything but air rifles. My first rifle was a Daisy Powerline 880. Killed a few tree rats with that one.

Rob-The scope on the Weatherby is a Bushnell Yardage Pro. It's really nice!

Yes it does have a muzzle brake. I've been told you don't want to shoot one without it, so I never plan to do so.

[rquote=1572202&tid=109240&author=tstrom12]how much louder does the brake make the rifle?[/rquote]

Lost partial hearing in my left ear when I shot it without ear protection if that tells ya anything. It's LOUD! The pressure wave even when standing behind it is incredible.

I know you're a Howa fan, did you know that S&W 1000 is made by Howa?:D:D:D Howa made those, and a pumpgun similar to, but somewhat better, than the 870s of the time. I had three of the Howa/S&W/Mossberg 3000 pump shotguns, very nice guns built for S&W to peddle to the police departments, as an alternative to the 870s. They wouldn't jam if a shell got past the shell stop, 870s WOULD JAM, in that situation. The Howas were a bit better finished than the Remingtons, too, and slightly smaller in bulk. REALLY, REALLY nice pumpguns.

That Howa/S&W 1000 was the first gas-operated shotgun to use 2 3/4" and 3" shells interchangeably without any adjustments, too, they were ahead of their time.

I'd post a pic of MY Howa .270, but it looks just like yours.:claphands:

Heavyhitter, that looks like a Carcano, probably in 6.5mm, but possibly a 7.35 (yeah, REAL oddball sized ammo). Italian army rifles from WWI and II.Hornady used to make bullets for the 7.35, it used a .300" diameter bullet compared to everyone else's .308" or .311" sized slugs. NO ONE loads ammo for the 7.35 any more, and I think Hornady quit making that bullet long ago, as no one was buying them.

If it's a 6.5 Carcano, it's the same make and model used to kill JFK.
Hornady loads ammo for it, you can get it at Graf & Sons, in Mexico, MO. They have the exclusive contract for it.
