Last year was super tough at our spot on Paw Paw's place. I had several sits without a single oppurtunity during archery season. I did manage a doe during rifle season from a different spot.

It was pretty deflating to put all that work into a blind and not fire a single shot lol. Yesterday's deer is the first from the new blind, on the first sit of the season.

This was also the first deer I've taken with this crossbow. It is a killer instinct furious pro 9.5. It was given to me by a family member who was frustrated with it due to some quality control issues from the manufacturer. I spent quit a bit of time rebuilding it and setting it up.

Lastly, although this is not a big deer at all, it is the biggest I've ever killed with archery equipment. (Please debate that somewhere else).

I am more than happy with this deer. It also give me time to hunt other critters if I can fit it in between weddings, church, and ministry events. Thank you God for this blessing.

Firstly, congratulations!

Most likely, the stand being new last year, the deer weren't comfortable with it yet. The year following gave them time to get used to it, and it didn't bother them this time around.

Took care of some string eating components. I had to grind down the sharp edge that the string sits on to keep from cutting strings. I finished it by polishing with 1200 grit sand paper.

Replaced the junk scope and fixed the crooked picatinny rail. The picture on the right shows how far off it was

The cable slide was also installed upside-down. It was a shame thst such a nice bow was so poorly assembled. It's a beast now. Had i brought it i would have demanded a refund but since it was given to me it was worth working on. I would up with a really nice crossbow for free.
