Got to give alot of credit to this buck to mrs riverbottomhunter.

This past weekend I was going to move a stand off of this farm, but in the process I jumped up 2 nice bucks.

Didn't get a chance to hunt last night, but glassed the field around 6 and saw several does and 1 buck. I decided I wanted to try a decoy buck tonight to see if I could pull a buck in.

I had to work today but checked with the local sporting goods stores and non of them carried a decoy. Well my loving wife works in Fayette and took off early, made a dash to bass pro and picked up scarface buck decoy for me and had it home by the time I got off work.

Around 4:45 I got the decoy set up about 25 yards from my stand. Around 5:30 I hit the rattling horns and VECtor hard for a few minutes. From behind me I spoted a doe heading for my decoy. Thought, not really what I was looking to bring in with my rattling and decoy, but oh well I needed some deer meat for my freezer. She just about got in range, then she walked in the timber behind me at about 25 yards. I watched her for a bit, then noticed I heard another deer coming through the timber. Next thing I know a nice 8pt is standing about 25 yards away at the edge of the timber. He was giving ol scarface a heck of a stare down every time I would give him a little grunt, but then the doe started to walk further into the timber so he decided to follow her. I stood up and had to take one of those akward around the tree shots. Shot wasn't great by any means but the ol rage put him down right in his tracks.
