Any body else started switching their 3D rigs over to indoor?

I tore down the Hoyt about 3 weeks ago, changed sights, stabilizer, and backed about 10 pounds out of it for spots. Still too much weight and thinking about ordering a set of 40 lb limbs. Ordered 144 Vegas three spot targets and a dozen of the new Carbon Express X-Jammers today for indoors.

Started shooting the hunting bow at the Marshall Bud Shoot and think I will stick with it for the rest of the 3D's this season.

You use a different setup for 3D vs. indoor? That's like having more than one bow.:)

Till December of so I'm just gonna shoot my hunting bow "indoors." Shooting about 65 pounds and with a 20 yard pin.

I can't compete with it but if I can't shoot a 300X50 (NFAA face) with it on a regular basis I don't wanna be shooting it at a deer or turkey.

If I decide I wanna shoot competitively come December/January I'll prolly set up something new for indoors.

beagleboy, you mention the Vegas face. I'm just getting back into this. Where do you shoot competitively around here on that face? Actually I prefer the 60 arrow NFAA round on the 5 spot but wouldn't mind shooting an event or two on the Vegas face.

Hoytaholic,

You are right, sometimes it is a 450 round, just too shoot some more arrows. In Vegas, it is a 300 round. In PA last year, I shot it some as a 600 round. Kind of just depends on where you are I guess.

DSG,

Not many places around here to shoot competition indoors. I mainly just shoot by myself in my shop building.

As far as tournaments, the KC Shootout is near the Argosy Casino in January, five spot the first day, three spot the second day. They count super X's both days. Then there will be NFAA midwest secitionals and then the MBH indoor, both on the five spot.

Have my room booked for Vegas. Going to shoot out there this year in the BHFS flights. Be a pretty cheap trip. Since I travel too much, have enough points to cover the room and flights, all I need to do is pay the entry fee and have money for food and beer.:dancin:

A couple of good friends of mine shot serious competitive archery. One has won the missouri state title five years running, the most recent a couple of weeks ago, and he also finished 2nd at the NFAA outdoor nationals a few weeks ago.

If anyone is interested I can find out when all the local stuff is going on...I'm sure they know!
