Blest with a nice gift. AR pistol in 300 BO.
Trying to decide on a bullet and powder combo for deer season.
What works,?
Considering Sierra 125 gr HP for 30-30. Tried it, will feed from magazine.

I have run Barnes tac-tx 110 and Sierra TMK 125 in my 7.62x39 pistol with great accuracy. I use the Barnes when hunting but have not shot anything with it animal wise

I would try the 125 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip with whatever powder would push it the fastest.
I like the idea of the 125, I have 300blkout pistol also, but really I think a 115grain will work out better with the powder available, you will get better speed etc.
Know nothing about AR's but 125 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip have been deadly out of a 14 " Thompson Center. Went with a 220 Subsonic Ballistic Tip this rifle season, didn't expand but can't argue with buck going down within 10 yards. Trying a 150 gr Speer Bonded Gold Dot designed for BLK velocities in the Alternative season. Just sighted in with them ,not the best groups ever (1.5 "-2") but good enough for a 1.5 x scope.
I’d suggest trading it for a 6.5 Grendel upper.
