20yr Old Buying Handgun?

I have a Glock for sale I was contacted by someone 20yrs old. I seem to remember it is legal to sell to a 20yr old privately, they just can’t buy from a gun store. Thoughts?

Yes. But I heard it's on you if you sell to someone who is a felon or who cannot legally buy/possess a firearm because of their criminal record or other reasons. Be careful.
I had this come up one time. I was almost certain it WAS legal but called the local PD to be safe. Spoke to a sergeant who confirmed it was ok. He even gave me his cell to call in case another officer got involved and had concerns. This was in Columbia.
I have a firearm bill of sale given to me by a reputable firearms instructor in the state of Missouri.
Under the buyer disclosure section, the first bullet is this:
The buyer declares that the following is true:
* The buyer is of legal age to own a firearm of this type.
and...
* The buyer has not been prohibited from taking possession of, owning, or buying firearms legally.
However, under Seller disclosure, this is one of the bullets:
* The seller assumes no responsibility after the transfer of ownership has taken place.

Now, bills of sale for firearms take all sorts of forms and it is certainly not a legal document in the strictest definition of the same.

FWIW

Care to send that to me?
sure, u2u
I thought they had to be 21 to own/buy a handgun and 18 for a long rifle or shotgun. Who they buy it from wouldn’t matter. An 18 year old can be in possession of a handgun but can’t own one until 21. Maybe someone with an FFL on here will chime in and let us know.

This...
From an FFL, but not private party.

Federal law covering ammo is 18 and 21. Missouri law for purchasing the weapons doesn't have a minimum age other than 18 for legal consent. 02
Personally, I wouldn't do it, legal or not...just not worth any risk at all.

If you decide to though, I hope you don't have any issues.

Yeah I passed. I don't have to sell it just tired of looking at it in the safe not getting used. If someone comes along and buys great if not no biggie.
This is one of Missouri's little querks in the law. An eighteen year old can legally purchase a handgun from an individual but not through an FFL. As long as they are legally able to purchase any firearm.I would note on the bill of sale that you ask them if there was any legal reason they shouldn't own a handgun.
Another weird note,if a 18 year old customer comes in and ask to buy 22 lr shell. I have to ask if they are going to be used in a rifle or handgun sell or not depending on the answer.
In the long dark past, all ammo sales were recorded. I learned early on to say rifle when buying rimfire. At that time I didn't have a c.f pistol
Always wondered what would happen if I claimed rifle for 45 ACP.
