Good Morning Cat Pops and Other fellow sportsmen in good standing, not sure how this Friday is going to go, I'm pretty sure Blucan has demerits coming this morning
Henry I know it's tough going from driving the oats bus to riding, but you'll get used to it
Morning catdaddy. I hope you get to shoot a canvas back today.
Morning fellow sportsmen.
Fishy. I have no need for the oats bus. I've got bingo queens to pick me up. You on the other hand have to feed your oats bus.
I am very fleet of foot. As I said, I am basically the Jack LaLane of our time.
I attribute my toned physique to strict adherence to a clean lifestyle and regular indulgence of ice cream sammiches.
Here you go Catdaddy, my 65 year old pumper. No, it’s not a retired guy going to the nudey store. It is an old beat up rifle and has none of the qualities you are looking for. But it is still cooler than a leever gun
.....henry...duck season over.If yo decoder was updated,yo woulda known this.....when I buy flock'd goose heads it means seasons over....chit on sale.
blucan, looks like nice'n.....what kind of bullets it like to eat and whats accuracy like?
The only thing I've ever fed it is handloads with Hornady 180gr, and win 760 powder. It'll put them inside of 2" at 100yds easy so i guess it likes them fine, but I've never set it on a lead sled or anything to really test the accuracy. That isn't what I care about with this rifle. I just threw it over a toolbox on the back of my truck to sight it in. Best thing I did to it was I changed the trigger spring to lighten it, Helped a lot.
....what is story with that?Spring need more tension or less to get lighter trigger pull?
Lighter, some people cut coils off of the original but a lighter, and maybe just a tad longer spring is safer and more consistent. I just tried lighter and lighter springs until i found one that would fire accidentally when rattled around and butt slammed on the ground, Then I backed off a little from there to stay safe. Luckily, I know a guy in the spring business.
Let me know if you run across any of those springs again.I'd like to buy one and try on my 742.....seems most parts interchange with 760/742.
Yes, if i recall correctly, all of the trigger groups from Rem pump and semi auto shotguns and rifles are the same. 760, 742, 870, 1100,.......
When I get some time, I'll pull mine out, And measure it. and figure out which one I landed on. But they are not for sale.....I'll give yo a couple. one fo yo's 742, and one fo the 760 yo is soon to have
......respectable sportsmanship like post!
Sucking down cowboy killers is what I thought your secret was....
This is just plain wrong, and borders on heresy....
$9.47 a box.....me frugality not only skeeeers turkeys but even meself sometime.
Morning catdaddy. Congrats on the bogo turkey bullets.
Morning fellow sportsmen.
Fishy. I will be gone to scout future bingo queens this weekend. Try to stay out of the neighbors goat barn while im gone.
How many warning shots you planning to fire?
Tell'n yo,major accomplishment......to find the exact loads your looking for before season, that the loads have actually made it another year....unchanged,at less then half the price their sold for.
I can adapt.....ive taken 3 hour drives to turkey hunt and forgot my shells......and then found low brass #7 1/2 dove load and killed big tom.....but harder on me now.
.....hunting loooong hours from a blind......gives yo time to think....think about how much yo wish'd yo had yo super duper magnum turkey loads, how happy yo are to still be able to kill bird at under a buck a shot, happy yo didn't have to go buy another "new, improved, bestest ever" load at $20-30 a box and pattern them.....hope'n they's bestest ever and not have to make excuse to yo'self they as good as yo old ones they don't make no mo.
.....I know I'm just kid'n myself,i know my pet load will change, not be available at some point....soon.....be tweek'd into new, improved, bestest new ever fo well over a buck a shot.....I'm jus revel'n in me good fortune fo short time.
none....I'm not sniper like fishy.
Yo be better ask'n,how many backup shots I be plan'n.
Always worry about those follow up shots before the first one ever leaves the barrel. I know several guys that have the mentality when it comes to hunting deer and turkey. It shows by the number of misses on their resume.
FYI @catdaddy, I'm waiting for buddy to get here and we are heading down to Marymac. Gotta get in a scouting trip before I take bus load of high schoolers down Wednesday. I'm thinking they are going to put a hurting on the feesh since the water is still up and dirty. When they show up with their 10-12# mono and 20# braid, I'll just smile because dirty water means they can get away with it.
Depending on how many points yo gonna give me determines how detailed said report is!
