While doing a 50 acres controlled burn on hilly terrain this weekend my brother and I came to the realization we have got to get some radios that can handle our needs. We've got 500 acres overall and we're asking for trouble not being able to communicate across the entire property. Does anyone have any recommendations they'd be willing to share on radios that have worked really well for them in large hilly areas?

We've got ATT and Verison and neither are good except on the hill tops. We're looking into a repeater for the phones. The repeater will work for 2 way radios too?
