12-20-09........Rabbit hunt
What a day..........we had rabbit after rabbit up pretty much non-stop today. Dogs jumped roughly 24 rabbits. 3 hunters today myself Brian and his brother dan. We worked lots of brush piles. Send the dogs in and they'd come out with two of them. Every time I'd say hmmmm bet there is a rabbit in there it came true. Dogs would go in wiggle their tails really fast then you'd here one or two bark and out flies the rabbit like a missle. We'd let the dogs run it up and down the hills and sure enough the rabbit come back home for an easy kill. Some rabbits were tricky and very sneaky taking us several shot before it would go down jumping from brush pile to brush pile. Their was a little bit of snow on the ground from the day before which made looking for rabbit sign very easy. Saw tons of fresh tracks in the snow and also fresh rabbit droppings aswell and urine on the snow too.
All the dogs did very good today made sure I gave them an extra pat on the head and fed them up real good after the hunt when I got home.
Video of a few retrieves. Leah retrieved several more for the guys. This time she was bringing them to whoever shot them. Made me feel like she don't like me no more.....lol
