10/27 Buck

The Evening of Sunday 10/27 was a good one. Setup in a fence row where I had cut a large set of tracks crossing a field after the morning hunt. Decided to take the decoy with me and I setup on the ground with a few little trees and some grass/weeds in front of me but had very little back cover. As it turned out the buck came from behind me and cut across a pasture and was headed away. I got a few grunts in but he did not acknowledge. After 10-15 minutes he circled to the bean field to investigate the grunts and spotted the decoy and came in on a string. Was able to get it on camera. At the same time my buddy was also able to Arrow his biggest archery buck on another part of the farm. Great evening for us. Had hundreds I'd trail cam photos and got to velvet film him Labor Day weekend. Ended up killing him in that same bean field.

I like the heavy horns.

P.S. I know they are not "horns."

If you complain about calling antlers horns, you probably shoot a 6.5 Creedmoor. :D

Great buck, mass is where it's at.

I agree, but some will complain to demonstrate their superior knowledge, probably with something they Googled.

Hopefully with some charts, and stuff circled in red, that's what it usually takes to convince me of anything.... :D

Congrats, nice pair of bucks.

My son got a 115" 10 pt Sunday morning as well. I unfortunately had to take my turn working at church and live thru his texts and pics. The kicker is we put the stand up Saturday afternoon in the rain and he was the first to hunt it the next morning. 10 yard shot, buck ran 60 yards and piled up. I sure do like that kid!
