Our annual trip to Nebraska just came to a close. Just 2 of us this year.
We changed things around a bit because of no Kansas tags filled during our archery weekend out there. We went to Kansas for a day and a half and killed 2 then went to Nebraska for 5 days . Then back to Kansas for a day and a half to kill 2 more.
It wasn't the best weather we have encountered out on Nebraska but we still killed our 6 gobblers while there. In 5 days we had storms three mornings. Tough hunting when you can't reach the best spots because of mud and running water.
Still a great trip . We killed 10 long beards in 8 days. Fun times. We didn't get pictures of all the birds because of bad weather , but here are a few.
There seemed to be fewer on our farms early. It was much better this last weekend. I didn't see many Jakes but that could just be a product of birds being in different areas than normal. Where we hunt the late spring and dry weather had a lot of pre plant tillage done earlier than normal. I think the condition of ag fields being different than normal contributed to sightings in our normal spots being down. We killed 50% 2 year olds so that was normal.

Nicely done henry and company. That is a bunch of turkey meat. I'm glad you know more about killing turkeys than your arch-rival does about predator control.
