Didn't the NRA signal that they would be for this too? Silly honestly........people were doing the same thing in a variety of ways long before these and others were marketed.......
So if a nut job wants one to cause trouble with they will still be able to find one somewhere. If a law abiding citizen wants one for fun they can’t have one. With online sales I’m sure there will still be bump stocks sold. They will just come from overseas labeled as something else. Same way opioids are being mailed in now.
I'll probably catch all heck for saying this from a few members.....but I agree. They have no place in the publics hands. Keep semi autos semi autos like they were made. If you want an automatic get the legal permits.
I would say if you want one you better buy one now. Same goes with 30 rd magazines or AR 15’s SKS’s, AK’s.
What I would like to know what happens if they classify these as class III firearms ? Will average Joes even be able to have them?
I don’t have one but if the bad guys have them(we
know they don’t follow gun laws and never will) I might want one!!!

It really doesn't matter if they ban them or not honestly........people have known how to do this for a long time........this just made it easier to accomplish for people......
Good news is there is probably laws that prohibit changing a semi to a fully auto, so If someone gets caught with an after market fully auto, simply enforce the law!
The problem with all these proposals is that they aren’t specific to banning bump stocks. They are banning rate increasing devices but don’t define what that means. An aftermarket trigger for competition shooters increases the rate one can fire. A 30 round magazine increases the rate of fire compared to a 10 round magazine. A polished bolt carrier increases rate of fire. Jerry Miculec’s finger increases firing rate compared to mine using the same gun. Where is the line?
This is a Trojan horse to eventually ban all semi autos with removable magazines.
To reduce it to the lowest common denominator, something is going to have to be made to pay. Bump stocks are the easiest whipping boy to take it out on. Even though I have no desire to own a bump stock or an AR I don't like it or agree with it but, it will happen. Rather than address the real problem, a problem the left has created, it's just one more wedge they want to drive into the block to separate Americans from their freedom and, the ignorance of the population at large will not only allow it but demand it.
No doubt of that Ozark. The ultimate goal of the left is total and complete confiscation. Given the direction the country has gone in the last 50 years I fear that will become a reality. Probably not in my life time but some day the policies of the left, if allowed to continue, will achieve that goal.
The Vegas shootings tends to show that a shouldered weapon aimed on the general direction of a crowd can hurt a lot of people. Rate of fire allowing bunches of bullets to bounce off of concrete probably aided in that body count.
I don't want to sacrifice anything, however, there is going to be a sacrificial lamb. If I thought for a minute fighting the left on this was going to make a difference I'd go down with the ship but, it isn't just the left this time. I fear this one is a losing battle. As much as I hate it I'm afraid 90 is right. We might have to go along but we can let it be known we don't like it and draw a line in the sand.
I'm not a fan of bump stocks but they got this one wrong.

Oh no, they'll try to come after whatever else they deem a threat. But like the last 12 years, nothing will come of it. It's always been that way. Just cracks my **** up when people get worried they're going to "take err guns" yet Obama never did.
Serious Question: those on here willing to ban the bumpstocks..... do you currently own and use an AR 15 or other style MSR? It seems there is a lot of "well it doesn't directly effect me-itis" going on around here. When considering Pro and Anti Gun views, there's little to zero flexibility between the two sides. Instead of conversations regarding guns "were" having arguments. I'm one that doesn't agree with everything that the NRA represents or is for 100% of the time. But with that being said the left or gun control advocates are like patient non relenting terrorist. They continue to pluck away at their goal/agenda to remove guns from the citizenry. They morph and change tactics from "what do you NEED that for" to bringing in "hunters" and "target" shooters into their ranks to help water down their message on the surface. But don't kid yourself . Just under the surface is a antigun vision that will not rest with the removal of a bump stock Or Ar 15's for that matter. Let's say "we" give them the bumpstocked Ar 15's. All semi autos will then pop up in the Antigun Pezz Despenser for ban next. If you pay attention to the media outlets the verbiage is already changing from Assault Rifle to semi automatic. Don't for 1 second believe that these talking heads have finally learned to define the AR 15 correctly by using the term semi auto. They want to now define the ban on guns as all semi autos . Maybe with the younger generation heading to Washington arguments will turn back to conversation. But from what I've seen thus far, just like other grassroots organizations, the kids message has already been Hi-jacked by the lunatic fringe....
Bump stocks are a sacrificial lamb being tossed to the antigun wolfpack.
But once they get done devouring that lamb, they will want another. I'd suspect it will be high capacity mags.... 30rd sort of things. Then, once they get that, it's on to whatever is next on their list..... But make no mistake, the end game is no guns being bought or sold, or legally owned. Until that happens, this will never end. And God forbid it ever does.... Only criminals will have guns, and people will still be getting shot for many many many years.
I hate seeing the word "need" thrown around. I do not want the government deciding what it is I need..... What's next, cars that go fast, alchohol, etc, etc. You start letting the government decide what it is you need, you are one step away from everyone wearing grey pantsuits and looking like Dr. Evil aka Hilliary Clinton.
To me, one of the biggest problems with liberals is, they actually belive through legislation this country, the world even can come to some John Lennonesque nirvana of a society where we all sit around drinking herbal tea, listening to music, and hugging each other in endless harmony. Where no one has more, or less than anyone else......
It's a pipe dream, some people realize there will always be a meanness in this world. So, quit grasping at brass rings, and actually do something..... :wave1:

Bump-stock - the sacrificial lamb
We have been bending over and exposing our cheeks to the anti's for more than 50 years.
It is time to draw the line in the sand and say enough is enough.
It is time to take back, not give back.
Before Kennedy was shot, milsurp guns were sold through the mail. As a concession, it was agreed that long guns could be sold at 18 and handguns at 21. Patriotic citizens have given up more than enough.
I've ranted enough.
I don't own an AR or a bump stock nor do I have any desire to own one. I have also never said they should be "allowed" to take them. I said if I thought it was a fight we could win I'd go down with the ship. If either the AR or stock is what someone wants they should be able to purchase one. No, it isn't my personal ox that's being gored, it is our collective ox that is going to get gored and we're seeing the same tactics that have worked since time immemorial, divide and conquer.
The left/liberal/progressive/socialist/communists have been after our firearms since before the turn of the last century and as has been mentioned they will not stop. Chameleon like they will change names, tactics and accusations ever softening the appearance of their stance while beneath the facade it's the same snake. Lines have been drawn in the sand in the past and we've won and, I hope in the long run we'll win more. However, right now with everything so heated up on the left, their clever use of victims and the complicit media with their flat out lies, something is going to "get gored". The question is, what do you want it to be?
Both great ideas.....just doesn't seem to work either way in real life does it? Counties can't get bond issues passed to build jails and courts just keep doing the same thing.......
