For the money anyway. I have a buck Gardner that I bought on clearance several years ago for 10 bucks and I hate it. I want something that is easy to use.

Picked this big river call up today at a yard sale. 10 bucks and was still in the unopened package. Some recommended this call on this thread and for 10 bucks it sure wasn't a risk.

Vector calls make a great one I've heard ...

For the small lakes and ponds you hunt a couple Herrr-Ronks from that baby should do it.
I'm not gonna win any compititions but after messing with it a couple days I've made better goose sounds than I ever have with my buck Gardner call. Seems to be just a matter of learning to be consistent with the back pressure for the herrr and then the strong forced air for the brake over and the ronk. If that made any since. I think I'm gonna like this call.

Over time i have had most every call lol. Myself a $20 poly rnt goozezilla is really a decent lo priced call that will cover a full range. My main goose call anymore as i have always liked n used is Grounds as i use a poly supermag nowdays but a hedge or maple suermag is what i prefer. As i was to have a spot with lots of honkers i could hunt plus run traffic i would have grounds supermag in a wood version tuned medium, polysupermag light medium and a grounds halfbreed to get that smaller goose sound and for running traffic birds

If you can run a half breed there is no reason to use another call.

If you are just starting out a Wing Lock Wisperer in maple is the way to go.
Jig could blow that call.

I have been going back to a flute call, not a sound geese have been hearing lately.
Got to switch things up.

Problem is i dont like to have just 1 call as yes u can make 1 call of it is built right to have full range but like i said i rather have a few calls so there already tuned the way i like them. Only winglock i liked was that i named when rick was making them and it had edge guts in it and it was the Sudden Impact goose call as it could he tuned anyway you wanted to do it as i just cant stand victoria honker guts.
