VECtor Custom Calls
In the spring of 2003,
Vincent E, Crawford (V.E.C.), at the age of 22, decided that he would no
longer use a manufactured, 'every call is milled to be the last call'
friction turkey call. He began laying down elbow grease on a glass
turkey call that is now known as "FIRST IMPRESSION." Later in
the year, with the push and guidance of good friends, Crawford put more
work into producing "SI8te", the eight-sided slate friction
turkey call. As the popularity of the turkey calls continue to gain,
Crawford has been working on other wildlife calls also, such as deer,
duck and goose. In the fall of 2006, the VECtor deer grunters were very
successful and their popularity in the deer woods has exploded.

VECtor deer grunt calls
were first created after specific requests from good friends Jeremy Webb
of Weston, MO and Scott Paine of Hannibal, MO. These first grunt calls
were produced in the fall of 2006. Their popularity HIGHLY exceeded
expectations! 19 deer grunters were made and used during the 2006 deer
season. 14 shooter bucks were harvested with the use of these 19 calls!
Mr. Webb also called in a 200+ inch non-typical buck into camera range
while he was archery hunting!
The popularity of these grunt calls seem to come from the ability to
grunt lower than any of the plastic production calls on the market. We
have decided the VECtor Custom Calls deer grunt call slogan is “Taking
deer hunting to a new low.”
The deer grunt calls are available in many types of woods. Most of the
domestic wood grunt calls have been made out of walnut and persimmon up
to this point. Dymondwood and color wood grunt calls have also been VERY
popular.

After MORE specific
requests…..and after the initial production of the VECtor deer grunt
calls…….VECtor duck calls were born! Nothing gets a spouse more
excited than hearing a VECtor duck call being blown throughout the
house! At this point, I have created only a handful of duck calls, but
the ones in use have been VERY successful. These initial duck calls are
for ‘timber use’ and close-in situations where you don‘t want your
calling to echo. I will be working on ‘field use’ and long-distance
calls in the future.
