Hunting in Hawaii

  1. I spent the morning climbing over lava rocks and over 6,000' in elevation in the pouring rain to chase this guy. Absolute blast! Hawaiian Black Ram on the Big Island.

    Very cool critter, Congratulations. Did you get any snow? I saw where higher elevations got up to a foot.

    One day I'm gonna take my wife under the pretense of a vacation and go shoot a turkey over there. Bucket list item.

    Maui has Mongoose (Mongooses? Mongeese? :) everywhere! a good population of Turkeys and especially wild hogs!

    Congrats on an awesome Ram! 22-250 with the right load and shot placement will take a lot of game!

  12. That was my initial plan, but the guide said this is definitely the wrong time of year unless you enjoy going on 100 mile hikes. Having said that I saw plenty of Rio's along the roads.
