Close one, start another. Hoping to fill another thread with good times. Can't wait to see whats in store for this year.

Had a good year last year. Killed a nice bird in the spring with my boy by my side, and got a nice buck myself in November.

We did apples last year. This winter we got 10 pear trees going from seeds. Gunna let them grow a bit and plant them here in a month or two.

Got a chance to head up, had pretty nice weather this past weekend to get some things accomplished.

Did some chainsaw work. Widened some shooting lanes. Also prolly murdered upwards of 200 useless honey locust trees. There's prolly not a square inch on my body without some sort of stab wound. I usually work pretty fast and thats not ideal for trees covered in thorns :D

Took about a 1.5 hours walk looking for sheds. Also covered all the bare fields looking from the atv. Found zero.

Pulled my 5 cams. Had between 5-6k pictures since the beginning of december. Nothing with superb headgear, but there was plenty of game caught running round there the past 3 1/2-months.

Yes. Debating on leasing it out just for turks. Must live 2+ hours away. :D

It was a short morning for us. Not in the good way. Kids got wet on the way out, and my daughter was wearing my socks by the time we got settled in at our spot. It lightly drizzled for a bit, then turned to actual rain for a half hour. It was pretty much a matter of time after that. Saw two deer but didn't hear or see any turkey. These two clowns wouldn't sit still and giggled pretty much the entire time. Good times.

What a great morning. Got to the farm around 5:30 and truck said 38 degrees. Didn't hear a gobble until 7am. It was a long long ways off. I hit the box call shortly after and waited. About 15 minutes later I had to slighty arrange my arse against the tree I was leaning against and as I did that one lit the woods up about 100 yards away. I looked down the logging road to where I could barely see and I see a head bobbin and a black silhouette. He's in a perfect spot to see my decoys. So I didn't make another call. I get set and he's working his way down the road gobbling and fanning. About 50 yards out now and I see that it's two together. Nice! They work their way in further struttin and gobblin still. So awesome. About 30 yards and I shoot the one that's fanned out ;).

I didn't have any means to weigh him but a pretty hefty bird. The other one ran around in circles after I shot and at one moment was almost in my lap!

10 inch beard and 7/8 spurs.

    What a fun day!!

Thanks, it was. Only second time Ive had more than one tom come in at once. Only other one was a few years back in the middle of the woods and had 4 come in.

Too bad one of my kids couldn't make it. Beside possibly be a little cold, it would have been a great hunt for them to tag along!
