Shaving hides


Is there a common shop tool better than a knife for shaving hides? If a knife, what shape knife? What technique is used?

draw knife is about the best i have used, if your have do it by hand.make sure it sharp:D

I've got a huge bark draw knife. I guess I could try that with a fleshing board.
I don't do enough hides to make it worthwhile to buy a dedicated tool.
This is on a fox, but I have a deer to do next, BB.
