Default Youth hunt age requirement

So my son just turned 3 and I no he's to young to deer hunt with a rifle but my family and I are really struggling for meat right now. I was wondering if I am able to buy a tag for my son so I can take one with a rifle as soon as I can cause all the deer I have been seeing are out of bow range.

Not a good idea for you to shoot a deer and tag it with a youth tag... I would think you could buy a lot of meat with the money it'll cost you in fines

Why not just take the rifle out and shoot one and save the money for the tag?

Contact Share the Harvest, through the Conservation Commission, and see if they will donate a deer to ya. No, you cant legally do what you asked.

What part of the state are you in.....there's a chance that someone here will give you a deer. I'm in Ralls County....if you are close to me you are welcome to the next one I shoot.

Must be six years of age.
They must shoot the deer themselves.
They must have an adult with them that has passed hunter safety.

Where are you located? I haven't killed any yet but still have some from last year. Do not endanger your future hunting by doing something rash, you can have some of mine if close enough.
