Default buckbrush, how to kill?

OK, I've always called this stuff buckbrush. What is the proper name for it cause I want it killed, not just the "tree", but the root and all! I've use Tordon, but it seems to just kill the "tree"

Its not buckbrush its smooth sumac. Why do you want to kill it? If it is in a field mowing will do it in. If on the edge it is pretty desireable for wildlife.

After you mow it a couple times is it still coming into your yard? I've never tried to kill it but I would sure think that round up would do it in.

Agree, smooth sumac. Kill it like any other tree. Cut it off & treat with torodon.

I ran across this.
http://mdc.mo.gov/landwater-care/plant-management/nuisance-plant-management/smooth-sumac-control

I have some gly-4, I might mix some strong stuff up and try it instead of the tordon.

Pretty sure it spreads via rhizomes. I'd say repeated treatments will be required.

I think the 2 blade rage will do the trick. Just make sure there are no mighty oaks nearby or the over spray may kill em.
