I say (after having done it) that it WILL work, but by no means is it optimal for success

Oh and you will probably get flamed for asking and me for admitting that I've done it

I believe its perfectly legal in Mo. being that its a centerfire cartridge. Ive heard of them working, but you better put the perfect shot on it.

I'm a huge fan of .22 cal. (centerfire) bullets for deer, but the hornet, for me personally just isnt enough.

Legal, yes.

A good choice for anyone that isn't a "crack" shot, and knows when to take, and not take a shot.... Not in my opinion.

204 Ruger is legal, by MDC laws, but I wouldn't use one for deer.

Know a man here that all he ever carried was a Savage 24 in 20ga/22hornet. Said it was all he needed.

I will admit, on MOST forums you would, but here, probably not so much, I'll retract the blanket statement.

Technically you could use ANY centerfire rifle can't you? I know of a guy who used a 204 Ruger, he shot a small doe in the head TWICE before she went down.

When I used the Hornet that one time, it was with a fairly tough bullet and the shot was at 25 yards. You would have thought I used an '06, she ran about 25 yards and fell over.

My dad used a .204 the last couple of years of his life. He shot 3 deer with it, all through the lungs (textbook shots), and none travelled more than 30 yds. I wouldn't call it an ideal deer rifle, but in the hands of a good shot who knows where to put a bullet they work just fine.
