We are allowed to keep firearms in our locked vehicle. But then we are in a rural area but run by Californians .

Employers don't have those rules to keep employees safe. They have them to keep the employer safe. Employees would be collateral damage in the scenario they are worried about.

younger fella was my cousin's next door neighbor. wonderful guy from all accounts, would have fit in well around here from what it sounds like. they're quite devastated, horrible situation.

I agree that carrying will not often save you if someone attacks you directly without warning but someone carrying who is not directly attacked might be able to save the lives of others in some situations. I feel like assigned and vetted carry persons are a good thing to have in most workplaces. Sometimes that's armed uniformed security, but conceal carry has its' place in today's world, IMO.

Concealed carry may have its place in some places it's not a forcefield and can't help if a person just walks up and shoots you.

My wife is behind Bullet Proof Glass and Coded Door, she is armed. If needed she can keep going back into locked rooms.

Everyone there is armed and Cameras all over the place.

She is actually safer here than when she worked at the State Prison.
