Default Parker Tornado XXTreme

I thought I would give my first impressions of the new 2017 Parker Tornado XXTreme bow I ordered and recieved from this week.

The Tornado came well packaged in a medium sized box that protects the bow during shipping.

The bow arrives in 3 major parts. The stock with the laser sighted scope and sling attached, the rail and riser section with the foot stirrup and quiver bracket which is attached to the tac rail, and a 4 arrow quiver with arrows.

Bow assembly is quick requiring 6 screws 3 on each side to connect the stock to the rail. The only other assembly is to install a quick release fitting for the quiver on the quiver bracket, 2 screws.
After assembly my observation is that the fit and finish is as good as any high quality bow. One thing to note is along with the warning stickers we all are accustomed to, there are labels that indicate that the bow carrys 165lb limbs, and clearly identifies the string and cable lengths of the bow. There is also a lable advising of the minimum 400gr arrow weight to be used.
Next I compared the listed specs of the Tornado xxt to the actual specs as recieved.

Spec Weight. 8.9 lb Actual: 9.2lb ready to hunt with sling and quiver with 4 407gr arrows.
Over Length. 34.75" Actual per spec
Axle to Axle. 20.625" Actual per spec.
Speed 365fps. Actual speed shot indoors through my Caldwell Pro Chrony using the infared light bar 365-371fps with 20" 407gr Parker Red Hot arrow.

Parker offers several different packages with their bows differences being mostly scope related. My bow was supplied with the Parker Outfitter 3x multi reticle scope. As mentioned earlier Parker laser sights the scope and my bow shot less than 1" to the right at 20yds out of the box.

My first opinion with limited shooting is the Tornado xxt is a that it draws fairly easy, and is very quiet. The Tornado comes with limb saver dampeners installed in the quad limbs. With its weight it is very solid without vibration and no noticeable shot shock.

Advantages of this bow are Parkers life time warranty, made in the usa, reasonable price and and the quality of the included accessories that are better than what are included in most package bows.

The limited cons as I see them are, Parker doesnt include a cocking devise, and the bow is heavy, if the hunter was going to spot and stalk or carry a long distance.

The New Parker Tornado XXT is the type of bow the new crossbow hunter could step into and not have to buy a lot of incidental gear to get it to the field. This is a bow that shouldnt be overlooked when looking for a new bow.

looking good
remember it is just the internet

We never say ‘we hope we catch fish.’ We just wonder how many and how big the fish are going to be that we put in the boat.”
